I was feeling down yesterday as I was thinking about my older post on life and habits. I realized that once you get into the groove of doing something, it's so easy to just continue doing it. As you carve out a path in your brain, more and more of the process becomes unconscious and soon you're consistently performing this action without paying any attention to how it affects you or your life. Until your emotions kick into gear and tell you that this action makes you really happy or sad (emotional signposting - read my post on this on my other blog), you are completely oblivious as to how this habit affects you.
Maybe it's time I paid more attention to my habits.

You're right, Aves. Habits do tend to become so ingrained in us that we do not pay attention to them and their effects anymore. Worse, even when we do realize their effects, we sometimes do not have the motivation to change.
Hey Numi! You know what I just realized earlier? Even the way I take a shower has become a habit for me. I love long hot showers, so it's really too bad when I zone out and the habit takes over. :( I really have to pay more attention to get the full relaxing effect.
